Abstract: A Treatise on Connection-Transformation in Literature by Luan Dong provides a new literary theory for academic circles. With condensed academic thought and grand poetic philosophy, this work has its own ideas, propositions, terms and expressions, all of which are different from the other literary theories. By backtracking to Guizang(return to being hidden), advocating Guiqian(return to being latent and potential), and deducing and unfurling, it brings the poetic theory of circulation and Tao for thousands of years into a field of harmony and transformation. The shortcomings of beauty being put forth and foremost and of hidden and latent qualities being insufficient in literary and artistic circles are corrected. With regard to Poetics going to Gui(return), to Qian (potentiality), to Zang (hidden), and to Hua (transforming), the book brings forth new ideas for the traditional poetics and the Western literary aesthetics introduced in the modern times.

Key words: literary connection-transformation, poetic philosophy, thought of Gui (return) and Guizang (return to being hidden), Pi-ology and Pi-interpretation
