Abstract: Li Weifang's book, The Research on the Relationship between Empirical Approach and Aesthetic Criticism, tries to correct people's bias against the French School and the American School's theories on the empirical studies and aesthetic criticism. The book appraises objectively the arguments of the two schools on the issue, expounds scientifically the relationship between the empirical approach and aesthetic criticism, and thus helps scholars to gain a better understanding of it.
