内容摘要： 徐彬教授的专著《劳伦斯·达雷尔研究》在对达雷尔生平与作品的研究中建立起了文学伦理学批评的范式。该范式提供以艺术伦理与政治伦理为经纬的观察视角,揭示达雷尔作品背后的伦理价值和道德动机,以及环境对其伦理身份的影响。此外,该专著对劳伦斯·达雷尔的旅居创作做了系统梳理,深刻阐释了这些作品背后的政治内涵。

Abstract: Xu Bin's monograph A Study of Lawrence Durrell establishes a critical paradigm of literary ethical criticism in his research on Durrell's life and works. The paradigm offers an observation of the interplay of artistic forms, political pursuits and ethical value in Durrell's works. Moreover, it reveals the influence of environment on the author's ethical identity. The monograph provides a panoramic survey of Durrell's travel writing and an interpretation of the political significance of his works.
