Abstract: The British short story writes a lot about the exotic spaces, which voice actively the existential states of the White aliens and help them to reconstruct their identity. By placing the British exotic short story in the broad context of spatial criticism, this paper examines how the existential state of the White people is expressed by the cultural and geographical spaces. It argues that the analysis of British exotic short story from the perspective of space is of great significance: firstly, it can improve the unique literary status of British exotic short story; secondly, it can disclose the fraudulent nature of White heroes modeled by the mainstream narrative.

Key words: British exotic short story, space, existence, the aliens
