Abstract: Until I Find You, the well-known contemporary American writer John Irving's 11th novel, creats a series of hippie images, and can be regarded as a mirror refracting hippie culture. In addition, the famous American rock star Bob Dylan's music runs throughout the entire novel just like its main melody. Bob Dylan's music has not only become an important point for interpretation of the novel, but also a major way for us to understand the group of hippies, and thus to gain a glimpse of the whole hippie culture. As the representative of the hippie culture, Bob Dylan's music is not only a significant symbol confirming the identity of hippies, and constituting their lifestyle, but also the lifelong spiritual home for them.

Key words: Until I Find You, John Irving, Bob Dylan, hippie, rock music
