Ethical Literary Criticism toward Interdisciplinary Studies and Construction of World Literature: A Review of the 8th International Symposium on Ethical Literary Criticism

Abstract: During the past 15 years, the theoretical framework of Ethical Literary Criticism has gradually matured. The research team led by Professor Nie Zhenzhao has made its every effort to promote Chinese academic discourse going abroad. At the 8th International Symposium on Ethical Literary Criticism, all the scholars and participants conducted heated discussions concerning the core concepts, salient features, theoretical construction and criticism practice of ELC, hot issues on national literatures, as well as the research frontiers on comparative literature and world literature. Featured as trans-national, trans-language, cross-disciplinary and trans-genre, the conference helps the development of EFL and promotes the study of world literature in the new era.
